Aftercare & Homecare

Massage

In the first 24 hours:

  • Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins released during the massage.

  • Avoid caffeine and alcohol for a few hours post-treatment.

  • Allow your body to rest and absorb the effects of the massage.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise or intense activity for the rest of the day if possible.

  • Have a light meal if you're hungry, but avoid heavy or greasy food immediately after.

  • Note how your body responds over the next 24–48 hours. Inform me if you experienced discomfort or any unusual reactions.

In the next week:

  • Some mild soreness is normal, especially after deep tissue massage.

  • Apply a warm compress to relax sore areas, or a cold compress if there’s swelling.

  • Light stretching can help maintain flexibility and prevent tightness from returning. Avoid overstretching or high-intensity movement.

  • Incorporate regular movement like walking or gentle yoga to maintain mobility and muscle function.

  • Consistency helps maintain the benefits, I may recommend a frequency based on your needs (e.g., weekly, biweekly, monthly).

Manicure/ Pedicure

In the first 24 hours:

  • Wait at least 2 hours before bathing, swimming, or washing dishes; water can weaken the bond and lead to early chipping.

  • Avoid heavy hand or foot activity right after your appointment.

  • Don’t use nails as tools (e.g., for opening cans).

  • Use cuticle oil and hand/foot cream daily to keep skin and nails hydrated.

  • Dry skin can lead to cracked cuticles or calluses returning quickly.

  • For at least 12 hours, avoid hot baths, saunas, or heat treatments.

  • When washing dishes or using cleaning products, wear rubber gloves to protect nails and polish.

In the next few weeks:

  • Use cuticle oil as it keeps cuticles healthy and helps prevent hangnails and dryness and promotes healthy nail growth.

  • Don’t peel or pick: This damages the nail plate, contact me for professional removal.

  • Book regular appointments: For ongoing care, book every 3–6 weeks, depending on your nail growth and lifestyle.

Waxing

In the first 24 hours:

  • Avoid heat: No hot baths, showers, saunas, steam rooms, or sunbeds for 24–48 hours. Heat can irritate the freshly waxed skin and open pores.

  • Avoid sweating: No intense exercise or activities that cause sweating. Sweat can cause bacteria to enter open follicles, leading to irritation or spots.

  • Avoid touching the waxed area to reduce risk of infection.

  • Don’t scratch, even if the area feels itchy.

  • Wear loose clothing: Tight clothes (especially on bikini or leg areas) can cause friction and irritation. Choose breathable fabrics like cotton.

  • Don’t apply perfumed lotions, deodorants, tanning products, or makeup to the waxed area for 24 hours.

In the next few weeks:

  • Start light exfoliation 2–3 days after waxing. Do it 2–3 times a week to prevent ingrown hairs (use a gentle scrub, exfoliating mitt, or chemical exfoliant like salicylic acid).

  • Moisturise: Use a fragrance-free, soothing lotion to keep skin soft and hydrated. Dry skin increases risk of hair breakage and ingrown hairs.

  • Avoid sun exposure: Waxed skin is more sensitive—avoid tanning (natural or fake) for at least 24–48 hours. Always apply SPF if area is exposed to sun.

  • No shaving: Let the hair grow to at least ¼ inch (6mm) before your next wax. Shaving can disrupt the growth cycle and make waxing less effective.

Tinting/ Enhancements

In the first 24 hours:

  • Do not get lashes or brows wet for at least 24 hours. This includes steam, swimming, sweating, or washing your face directly over the eyes.

  • Avoid touching or rubbing to avoid irritation or weakening of the lift/tint.

  • Avoid applying mascara, eyeliner, or brow products for 24 hours to allow the tint and/or perm to set fully.

  • No hot showers, saunas, or steam rooms for 24 hours. Heat and humidity can interfere with the tint or weaken the lash lift.

  • Avoid oils and creams around the eye area: Oil-based products can break down tint and weaken the effects of a lash lift. Stick to oil-free makeup removers and cleansers.

In the next few weeks:

  • Hydrate lashes and brows with a nourishing serum or conditioner (especially after a lift) to keep them strong and healthy.

  • Be gentle when removing makeup: Use gentle, non-oily products. Pat dry instead of rubbing the area.

  • Avoid waterproof mascara (for Lash Lift).

  • Brush lashes daily: Use a clean spoolie brush to gently comb your lashes/ brows into place, especially after sleeping.

  • Avoid excessive sun or chlorine exposure: Sun and chlorine can cause tint to fade more quickly.
